High school juniors and seniors spent a night as a Piedmont student. Piedmont College held the second annual Fine Arts College Experience, or FACE, on November 2.

Eva Jameson, fine arts facilitator for Piedmont, organizes the event each year.
“We’ve expanded a little this year,” says Jameson. “All the kids got to see the new Swanson Center.”
Jameson and her husband start visiting high schools during the summer. They talk about Piedmont and give out brochures about the fine arts departments.
Students checked in Friday afternoon and talked with Cindy Peterson, director of admissions, about the college application.
The overnighters divided into music, theater and art sections. The music students watched the dress rehearsal of the opera workshop. Music majors performed scenes from Gianni Schicchi and Falstaff. Both operas were translated into English. During the intermission, Dr. James Mellichamp, vice president of academic affairs, gave a tour and history of the pipe organ.
